Sadly, this experience was so terrible, my wife and I agree we are done with hotels. Although the manager was exceptionally professional, offering us complimentary meal vouchers and half-off our hotel room. We were on vacation for my birthday and away from our 4 small boys (ages 3-10) The point of getting away to a hotel is catching up on sleep.
We were hoping for an 'oasis away from home'. The guests were eventually evicted around 5am. Multiple door knocking - 'I lost my key in the hallway, Let me in!!' We called guest services at 1am and again at 4am. There were doors banging, guests screaming at eachother, pounding on the walls, screaming in the hallways 'Casandra, where are my cigarettes!!' (Outside our door as if the voice was in our room). The property is home to Detroit’s only AAA.
MotorCity Casino Hotel also houses a 400-room high-rise hotel. The casino features approximately 2,700 gaming machines, 60 table games, and a poker room. Unfortunately, despite an overall positive experience from the hotel overall, from 1am to 5am we were bothered by loud noises from the guests in rooms surrounding ours. MotorCity Casino Hotel is located on Grand River Avenue at the Lodge Freeway (M-10) in downtown Detroit, less than a mile from MGM Grand Detroit.
